North Atlantic Current

A powerful warm ocean current that extends the Gulf Stream northeastward across the North Atlantic Ocean. It transports warm, saline water from the subtropics towards higher latitudes, moderating the climate of Western Europe. This current is a major component of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation.
