Angola Current

A warm, southward-flowing ocean current found in the eastern South Atlantic Ocean along the coast of southwestern Africa. It originates from the eastward-flowing South Equatorial Countercurrent and moves south from the Congo River mouth to the Angola-Benguela Front. At this frontal zone, located around 16°S latitude, the warm, nutrient-poor waters of the Angola Current converge with the cold, nutrient-rich waters of the northward-flowing Benguela Current.
