South Equatorial Countercurrent

An eastward-flowing ocean current located in the equatorial Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans, situated between the westward-flowing North and South Equatorial Currents. It transports warmer surface waters against the prevailing trade winds. This current is driven by the pressure gradient created by the convergence of the North and South Equatorial Currents.
