Equatorial climate
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005416
A type of tropical climate found in a band extending approximately 10 to 15 degrees latitude north and south of the equator. It is characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and abundant rainfall throughout the year, with minimal seasonal temperature variation. The consistent high sun angle and the convergence of trade winds in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) drive the convective rainfall typical of this climate.
