Zenithal rains

Precipitation that occurs when the sun is directly overhead, or at its zenith, in tropical and equatorial regions. These rains are associated with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the seasonal migration of the sun. They are characterized by their convective nature, often manifesting as intense, short-duration thunderstorms in the afternoon.
