Equinoctial rains
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005445
Periods of increased precipitation that occur around the spring and autumn equinoxes in certain regions. These rains are typically linked to the seasonal migration of the intertropical convergence zone or the intensification of mid-latitude frontal systems. The timing coincides with the sun crossing the equator, leading to shifts in global circulation patterns.
