Intertropical front

A narrow zone where the trade winds of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres converge, characterized by rising air, convective activity, and often heavy precipitation. It shifts seasonally, moving northward in the Northern Hemisphere summer and southward in the Southern Hemisphere summer. This convergence zone is a major driver of tropical weather patterns and global atmospheric circulation.
