Southeast trades

Persistent winds that blow from the southeast in the Southern Hemisphere tropical and subtropical regions. These winds are part of the Hadley cell circulation, where air descends in the subtropics and flows equatorward. They converge with the northeast trades at the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
