A strong, gusty, and dry downslope wind occurring along the northern coast of Luzon in the Philippines. This local wind is typically associated with the northeast monsoon, when cool, stable air is forced over the mountains of the Cordillera Central. The resulting foehn-like effect causes the air to warm and dry as it descends, creating hazardous conditions for shipping and agriculture in the coastal lowlands.
