Langmuir probe
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006869
A diagnostic tool used to measure plasma properties, such as electron density, electron temperature, and plasma potential. It consists of a small electrode inserted into a plasma, where its current-voltage characteristic curve is analyzed. This instrument is employed in laboratory plasma experiments and sometimes on spacecraft to study the ionosphere and magnetosphere.
