Gust probe
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010529
A specialized instrument designed to measure rapid fluctuations in wind speed and direction, particularly those associated with atmospheric turbulence and gusts. It typically consists of fast-response anemometers and vanes mounted on an aircraft or a meteorological tower. Data from gust probes are used to study boundary layer dynamics and aircraft performance.
