Gust formation time

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006128

The period over which wind speed rapidly increases from a lower, ambient level to its peak value during a gust event. This interval reflects the rate of acceleration of the air parcel as it becomes part of the gust. It is a key parameter in understanding the dynamics of turbulent wind fields and their impact on structures.
