A local name for the south foehn in Carinthia, Austria, where warm dry air flows over the Karawanken range into the south of the province. In Styria the name is used for a foehn from the southwest to west over the Koralpe, blowing toward Deutschlandsberg and Graz. The name comes from the Slovene word jug, meaning south.
