Dimmerfoehn
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005022
A type of foehn wind characterized by the presence of clouds and precipitation on the leeward side of a mountain range, despite the typical warming and drying associated with foehn conditions. This occurs when the air descending the leeward slope is still saturated or becomes saturated due to mixing or additional moisture sources. It represents a less intense or modified foehn effect.
