Bore

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003980

A rapidly propagating wave or surge that moves through a fluid, often characterized by a distinct leading edge. In meteorology, this can refer to an atmospheric bore, which is a solitary wave that forms in a stable atmospheric boundary layer. These bores can propagate for long distances and are sometimes associated with sudden changes in wind and pressure.
