Simple wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008887
A type of wave in fluid dynamics where the characteristics propagate along straight lines in the x-t plane, and the wave profile does not change shape as it propagates. This concept is often applied to idealized models of atmospheric disturbances, such as sound waves or shallow water waves. It represents a non-dispersive wave motion.
