Simple harmonic wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008886
A wave whose displacement at any point varies sinusoidally with time, and whose spatial variation is also sinusoidal. It is the simplest form of wave motion, characterized by a single frequency, amplitude, and wavelength. Many complex atmospheric waves can be analyzed as a superposition of simple harmonic waves.
