Sinusoidal pattern
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008904
A recurring waveform that oscillates smoothly and periodically, resembling a sine or cosine function. In meteorology, many atmospheric phenomena exhibit sinusoidal patterns, such as diurnal temperature cycles, seasonal variations in solar radiation, or wave-like disturbances in atmospheric flow. These patterns are often analyzed using Fourier analysis.
