Fourier integral
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005739
A mathematical representation that extends Fourier series to non-periodic functions, expressing a function as a continuous superposition of sinusoidal waves across all frequencies. In atmospheric science, it is used to analyze transient phenomena or signals that do not repeat over time, such as isolated weather events or short-duration atmospheric disturbances. This integral provides a frequency domain representation of a signal, revealing its spectral content.
