Amplitude spectrum

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003484

A graphical representation showing the amplitude of different frequency components present in a signal. In atmospheric science, it is used to analyze time series data of meteorological variables, such as temperature or pressure, to identify dominant periodicities. This spectrum is derived through a Fourier transform of the signal.
