Peak frequency
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007828
The frequency at which the maximum spectral energy density occurs within a given spectrum, such as a wave spectrum or an atmospheric oscillation. This value identifies the dominant oscillatory component in a complex signal. In oceanography, it indicates the frequency of the most energetic waves in a sea state.
