Fourier analysis
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005738
A mathematical technique that decomposes a complex waveform or function into a sum of simpler sinusoidal functions. In meteorology, it is applied to analyze atmospheric data, such as temperature or pressure, to identify periodic components or dominant frequencies. This method is widely used in spectral analysis of atmospheric waves and oscillations.
