Harmonic
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006171
A component of a complex wave or oscillation whose frequency is an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency of the wave. These components contribute to the overall shape and characteristics of periodic phenomena. In atmospheric studies, harmonics are used to analyze periodic variations in meteorological data, such as diurnal or annual cycles.
