Quasiperiodic

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008251

Describing a phenomenon that exhibits behavior similar to a periodic oscillation but with variations in amplitude, frequency, or phase over time, preventing it from being strictly periodic. In atmospheric science, this can refer to climate oscillations or weather patterns that recur at somewhat regular intervals but are not perfectly predictable. Examples include certain modes of climate variability like the El Niño-Southern Oscillation.
