Climatic cycle

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004357

A recurring pattern of climatic conditions that repeats over a specific period, often driven by natural oscillations within the Earth system or astronomical forcing. These cycles can range from short-term phenomena like the El Niño-Southern Oscillation to longer-term Milankovitch cycles influencing glacial and interglacial periods. While some cycles are regular, many are quasi-periodic.
