Milankovitch oscillations
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007300
Periodic changes in Earth's orbital parameters that influence the amount and distribution of solar radiation received at different latitudes and seasons. These oscillations include eccentricity, obliquity, and precession, which vary over tens to hundreds of thousands of years. They are considered a primary driver of glacial and interglacial cycles over geological timescales.
