Undular bore
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009879
A type of atmospheric gravity wave characterized by a series of waves or oscillations that propagate along a density interface, often appearing as a train of parallel cloud bands. These bores form when a stable air mass is lifted by a propagating disturbance, such as a cold front or sea breeze. They are frequently observed in the lower troposphere and can produce significant weather changes.
