Box models
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004006
Simplified conceptual models that divide a system, such as the atmosphere or an ocean basin, into a series of well-mixed compartments or 'boxes.' These models assume uniform concentrations within each box and simulate the transport and transformation of substances between them. They are often used for preliminary assessments of pollutant dispersion or climate change scenarios due to their computational efficiency.
