Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004102
A qualitative, single-digit index used to characterize the level of global geomagnetic activity for a given day. Observers at magnetic observatories assign a daily character of 0 (quiet), 1 (moderately disturbed), or 2 (highly disturbed) based on magnetogram readings.
