A supplementary cloud feature characterized by a well-defined, often circular or elliptical, hole or void appearing in a cloud layer. It forms when ice crystals fall from a supercooled liquid water cloud, initiating a glaciating process that clears a path through the cloud. This phenomenon is also known as a fallstreak hole or hole punch cloud.
