Celestial sphere

An imaginary sphere of arbitrarily large radius, concentric with the Earth, on which all celestial bodies appear to be projected. It is a conceptual tool used in astronomy and navigation to describe the positions of objects in the sky relative to an observer on Earth. Coordinates such as right ascension and declination are used to locate objects on this sphere.
