Central pressure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004231
The lowest atmospheric pressure recorded at the center of a weather system, such as a cyclone or anticyclone. This value is a key indicator of the intensity of a low-pressure system, with lower central pressures corresponding to stronger storms. For tropical cyclones, central pressure is a primary metric used to classify their strength.
