Bomb cyclone

A rapidly intensifying extratropical cyclone that experiences a dramatic drop in central atmospheric pressure over a short period. This rapid intensification, known as bombogenesis, occurs when the central pressure falls by at least 24 millibars in 24 hours. These systems bring strong winds, heavy precipitation, and can cause widespread disruption.
