Cloud level

The altitude of the base or top of a cloud or cloud layer, measured from a specific reference datum. This datum is typically mean sea level for aviation and general forecasting, or above ground level for local weather observations. Cloud level is determined using ceilometers, pilot reports, or estimated from radiosonde temperature and humidity profiles.
