Cold soak

The process of exposing an object or system to low temperatures for an extended duration to test its performance or stability under extreme conditions. This procedure is used to simulate environmental stresses on instruments or materials. For atmospheric sensors, cold soak testing might occur at temperatures below -40 degrees Celsius.
