Comma cloud system

A synoptic-scale weather system characterized by a cloud pattern resembling a comma, visible in satellite imagery. This shape is associated with extratropical cyclones and their associated fronts, where the head of the comma is the main precipitation shield and the tail extends along the cold front. It indicates the presence of a well-developed low-pressure system.
