Comma head

The broad, rounded portion of a comma cloud system, located near the center of the associated low-pressure system. This region is characterized by extensive cloudiness and heavy precipitation, often including snow or rain. It represents the area of strongest ascent and moisture convergence within the extratropical cyclone.
