Contact flight

A type of visual flight where the pilot navigates primarily by reference to visible landmarks on the ground and maintains visual contact with the terrain. This method of flight is typically conducted under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and requires good visibility. It contrasts with instrument flight, where navigation relies on aircraft instruments.
