Contra solem

A Latin phrase meaning "against the sun," describing motion in a direction opposite to the apparent daily movement of the sun across the sky. In the Northern Hemisphere, this corresponds to a clockwise direction. The term is sometimes used to describe the shift of wind direction, such as the clockwise veering of wind with height in the planetary boundary layer due to the Coriolis effect and friction.
