Cumulus fractus

A species of cumulus cloud that appears as small, ragged, and broken fragments, often with a shredded appearance. These clouds, also known as scud, form in the turbulent, moist air beneath precipitating clouds like nimbostratus or cumulonimbus. They are distinguished from cumulus humilis by their irregular shape and lack of a clearly defined, flat base.
