Days with snow cover

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004871

A climate indicator that counts the number of days within a specific period when the ground is covered by snow of a defined minimum depth. This measurement is recorded at weather stations to track long-term trends in snow persistence and its impact on hydrology and local climate. The World Meteorological Organization standard for reporting requires at least half of the ground surface to be covered, with no specific depth threshold.
