Snow-cover chart

A map that depicts the geographical extent and depth of snow cover over a specific region or continent at a given time. These charts are compiled using satellite imagery, ground observations, and numerical models. They are used by meteorologists and hydrologists to monitor winter conditions, assess water resources, and forecast spring runoff.
