Snowcreep
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008996
The slow, continuous downhill movement of a snowpack under its own weight, particularly on slopes, driven by gravity and internal deformation. This process is distinct from an avalanche, as it involves gradual, imperceptible motion rather than a sudden release. Snowcreep can exert considerable pressure on structures and vegetation over time.
