Snowdrift

An accumulation of snow shaped by wind, typically forming behind obstacles or in depressions where wind speed decreases. The size and shape of a snowdrift depend on wind direction and speed, snow characteristics, and the size and geometry of the obstruction. Snowdrifts can significantly impede transportation and bury structures.
