Differential ballistic wind

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004983

The vector difference between the ballistic wind for a projectile and the ballistic wind for a reference projectile, or between two different altitudes for the same projectile. This quantity accounts for variations in atmospheric conditions that affect projectile trajectories. It is often used in artillery and rocketry to refine targeting solutions.
