Equivalent head wind

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005455

A hypothetical headwind that would produce the same effect on aircraft performance as the actual wind conditions encountered during flight. This value accounts for the varying wind speeds and directions along a flight path, converting them into a single effective headwind component. It is used in flight planning to estimate fuel consumption and flight duration.
