Diffuse front

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005001

A weather front characterized by a gradual transition zone between air masses, rather than a sharp boundary. The temperature and moisture gradients across a diffuse front are less pronounced, making it harder to pinpoint its exact location. These fronts often produce widespread, light precipitation over a broad area.
