Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005191

A dense, advancing front of airborne dust that appears as a solid barrier, often associated with a strong gust front from a thunderstorm or a large-scale dust storm. This wall of dust can extend for many kilometers and reach heights of several thousand meters, dramatically reducing visibility to near zero. It is a prominent feature of haboobs in arid regions.
