Dynamic oceanography
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005208
The study of ocean currents, waves, tides, and other motions within the ocean, applying the principles of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics. This field investigates the forces driving ocean circulation, such as wind stress, density differences, and the Coriolis effect. It is analogous to dynamic meteorology but applied to the marine environment.
