Dynamic pressure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005209
The portion of the total pressure in a moving fluid that is associated with its motion, defined as one-half the fluid density multiplied by the square of its velocity. It represents the kinetic energy per unit volume of the fluid. In meteorology, dynamic pressure is relevant in understanding wind forces on structures and the behavior of airfoils.
